AIESEC Canada at the United Nations

From April 19th – 22nd, AIESEC in Canada was invited to join various leaders in the media industry to cover the high level talks and debates about the Sustainable Development Goals and climate change. Among various media outlets such as CNN and Huffington Post, we had the opportunity to listen to incredible speakers varying in different professions – all looking to achieve the same goal. Some of the speakers included:

Forest Whitaker, Actor and SDG Champion speaking on the realities of the SDG initiative, and how we should make it a reality for everyone.


Ségolène Royal, Minister of Environment, France and COP21 President. Madame Royal emphasized great importance on the focus on climate action when addressing the SDG’s universally.


Steve Howard, Chief Sustainability Officer, Ikea. Ikea has revolutionized sustainability through innovative technologies with production in relation to food and product manufacturing. Steve hopes the world can now shift into a trend and culture of sustainable practice.


among these world leaders, AIESEC in Canada had the privilege to listen to many to many more throughout the entire week of the conference. It was truly inspiring to see so many prominent individuals taking a stance on climate change, and actually making genuine effort to make a difference.
