Organizational Structure

The Local Chapter (LC) supports all activities pertaining to the AIESEC experience.The core focus of AIESEC work is facilitate exchanges.The LC facilitates this by separatingstrategic areas of work surrounding the exchange process into portfolios.Within each portfolio are many leadershipopportunities.  Whether one wants tolearn how to sell ideas to businesses or to develop retention strategies withinHuman Resources, the LC is able to support these processes.  Within the LC are six distinct portfolios.  These portfolios are interdependent on oneanother, yet hold a clear self-administration from each other.


Active Portfolios

Talent Management

The Talent Management Portfolio is responsible for both recruiting and providing learningopportunities to the membership:

  • Allocating Talent
  • Mapping Leadership Pipeline
  • Managing and Develop the Talent of All Members
  • Assessing Strengths and Weaknesses of All Members
  • Aiding Members in Developing Potential


Corporate Relations

The Corporate Relations portfolio is responsible for creating, maintaining, and building on the external partnerships and relationships with AIESEC's corporate stakeholders:

  • Marketing the Global Internship Program
  • Responding to Recruitment Needs of Businesses
  • Ensuring Quality Internships for Incoming Exchange Participants
  • Providing a Source of Revenue for the Local Chapter


Finance

The Finance portfolio is responsible for the budgeting, tracking, and reporting of AIESEC'S revenues and expenses, as well as supervising the Local Chapter’s projects:

  • Aiding Each Portfolio in Creating a Budget
  • Managing the Local Chapter’s Assets
  • Using the Appropriate Software and Policies to Maintain Up-To-Date Records
  • Fundraising For the Needs of the Local Chapter


Outgoing Exchange

The Outgoing Exchange portfolio is concerned with preparing current members to go abroad by helping them understand the challenges, and opportunities they will face:

  • Matching Potential Exchange Participants to an Internship
  • Helping Exchange Participants Contact the According Local Chapter
  • Aiding Exchange Participants with Challenging Cultural Experiences


Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations portfolio is responsible for engaging alumni with activities and opportunities to remain in touch with AIESEC:

  • Getting in Touch With Alumni
  • Engaging Alumni in Local Chapter Activities
  • Planning Events Involving the Alumni
  • Allowing AIESEC Members to Network With Alumni


Communication

The Communication Portfolio is responsible for informing the university, external communities, and business networks about AIESEC's activities:

  • Maintaining the AIESEC Ottawa Website
  • Updating the AIESEC Ottawa FaceBook Page
  • Notifying Members about Current Opportunities
  • Networking in the Business Community to Raise Local Partnerships
