Alberta Economic Development (AED)

As the marketing arm of the Alberta Government, Alberta Economic Development (AED) provides a variety of services for business and industry aiming to create a positive economic planning framework for Alberta.

Supporting the expansion of exports and trade in the Albertan economy is an important mandate of AED. AIESEC interns have played a key role in providing AED and its clients with market intelligence, analysis, and business opportunity information to support export and trade growth in Alberta.

AED has participated in AIESEC’s Global Internship Program since 2000 and has employed interns from Germany, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, and Tunisia in a variety of roles. Through the Global Internship Program, the department has leveraged AIESEC’s international leadership advantage by providing its clients access to skills and market knowledge unavailable in the Canadian marketplace.
